Goin’ Broke Lyrics by Mallory Johnson

Surprise Party

2022

Nothin’ wrong with tryin’ to boost my confidence
Feelin’ like a million bucks is a good dollar spent
Not tryin’ to be a Kardashian
But I’m sure as hell gonna keep up with the fashion trend
Put it on plastic, pay it later
Big time spender, small time saver
I’m havin’ trouble payin’ my rent
I’m so over this overdraft account, it must be an accident
Try to pinch my pennies but I still get in a pinch
And I can’t say “no” if the shoe fits
Goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich, I keep goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich
Just call me the bargain connoisseur
I dress to impress in my pink tarnished ring and my faux fur
And i’ll show up in my UberX chauffeur
But I can’t tip ‘cause my credit card chip will say “no” for sure
Gucci sales, you know I love it
Champagne tastе on a Bud Light budget
I’m havin’ trouble payin’ my rent
I’m so ovеr this overdraft account, it must be an accident
Try to pinch my pennies but I still get in a pinch
And I can’t say “no” if the shoe fits
Goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich
I’d have Kate Spades in spades if money grew on trees
Yeah Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and all that luxury
I try to act my wage just like my banker said
I only shop for red tags but I’m still in the red
I’m havin’ trouble payin’ my rent
I’m so over this overdraft account and its high interest percent
Try to pinch my pennies but I still get in a pinch
And I can’t say “no” if the shoe fits
Window shoppin’ gives me a twitch
If I could only have one wish
It’d be not goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich, goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich
I keep goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich, goin’ broke tryin’ to look rich
