From that point forward they looked for an escape route
Just like Korea, the country was partitioned
New western power with a globalized mission

Got the wealthy land owners who opposed uncle Ho's path
The widespread reform: "land to the tiller"
The split was untenable, it had to get realer

US puppet government was threatened to be swiftly
Overrun by fighters who would then form
The National Liberation Front to take Saigon
US rulers in a frenzy and panic
Start to send soldiers into the battle
But the problem was these troops didn't have
A tenth of the willpower that their opponents had
One American would die for every twenty of
The communist guerrillas instilled with love
And a duty to their homeland to unify it
Leadership of General Giáp behind it
From the Tet Offensive to Fall of Saigon
The 30th of April, time to say "so long"
To a very dark history of subjugation
At last, a free and independent nation
