Ancient History Lyrics by Marianas Trench

Haven

2024

[Verse 1]
(Oh, I) 19 and stupid, back in the day
Outside the cellar on West Broadway
(Oh, I) Was full of myself, who knows what I said
But you and I became collided
[Verse 2]
(Oh, I) We went together like fire and rain
A force of nature we could never contain
(Oh, I) Some days were perfect, some days were obscene
And round and round we went between
We (Didn't know)
[Chorus]
Time was running out
But that don't matter now
We were meant to be
Forever in ancient history
Had to move away
'Cause some things never change
As for you and me
There's always ancient history, history
[Post-Chorus]
Who we are now
Who we are now
Whoever we are now
It's never without our history
[Verse 3]
(Oh, I) A few years later, saw you one night
Somehow Toronto, it fits you right
(Oh, I) It's good to see you, and we've both grown
But where we came from stays the same, though
(Didn't know)
[Chorus]
Time was running out
But that don't matter now
We were meant to be
Forever in ancient history
Had to move away
'Cause some things never change
As for you and me
There's always ancient history, history
[Post-Chorus]
Who we are now
Who we are now
Whoever we are now
It's never without our history
[Bridge]
I'm glad to be part of your history
[Outro]
Who we are now (Na na na na na)
Who we are now (Na na na na na)
Whoever we are now (Na na na na na)
Who we are now (Na na na na na)
Well, it's always in the history
Oh
