As A Baby Lyrics by Marsy Mars

Mars Lives

2019

Through this wilderness of splendour
One woman, one man, will undergo many migrations
Verse 1
Let's mix us two here, in the glass of the past
Betwixt one tint of innocence and its other;
To all the babes of the Metamodern way
The High Innocents; this is for you
Though not for you only, as to this key
I re-migrate in order that I be tried
For my achievements, as though they were crimes
On the deserted atoll on which thеy were first committed
If you’rе young enough to realise all that you've got
And old enough to understand all that you've not
I feel the way Fortune, family in opposite ways implore you
But look on this sand, see my footsteps stretch before me
‘I’, ‘you', I'm mixing pronouns on the registry
For a moment, see you as you see me, in viced verse
Pre-Chorus 1
Permit of me to give to thee
The love of many stories told in one
And the idea of pre-history
As if my soul with fins and scuba key
Went, like that all under sea
To show you all the things you have not seen
Chorus
As a baby
Into my world now you look as but baby, as but a boy
And, baby, it's good to leave home
Verse 2
I write this all marooned on an auspice-less island
In a clearing of unsold advertising
So far from where you hearken and so far from where I now stand
And from this inlet, baby, understand
They will make Ezekiel out of me when I land
The sun has tanned the blueprint of my master plan
So when I come in stealing on your scene with an overnight's ease
It was made by yet another gasping for a desert breeze
The isle of this verse is in your lay abandoned
Looking like a lover left and a lover's love sated in tandem
By Sony, by God, maybe fortune's favour is random
But here you will find Mars as a baby before they ever got to brand him:
One who has not yet met you, and so cannot love you
But knows more than he knows the palm in his hand that he will do;
My utopia the slow process of creating utopia
You can hear the waves that I already used to sail from this place;
Now spectate with me 'pon those
Flushed with Western wealth, and
Those who from fate’s neglect are rising
As they both travel the world, both trying to find their own
Man it’s good to be home!
Pre-Chorus 2
Your mother once said
The top of your head
Still smells the same
As when you were a baby
Verse 3
So alright, we'll meet some day
On this you can rely, in a bar both getting drunk
