Still Courageous Lyrics by Matty B

Chronica

2022

[Verse 1]
I’m still courageous, don’t care if ya like it or know it
For fuck’s sake, don’t care if my rap goes viral like covid
Do this shit for creativity’s sake
Live through it everyday and don’t be dealin’ with fakes
I can live with mistakes, forgive myself instead of imprison with hate
I took the falls, I can live with the breaks
Envision the fate of emcees tryna spit in my face
Born in WA and still live in this place
Still livin’ with hate, and lift the right anthems off pages
And make political statements when I’m standing on stages
The system’s designed to contain us
Media prison tries to keep us locked in their cages
Still courageous, still dangerous
Still too smart and impatient to explain it to laymans
Still checkin’ green to stack paper
Still run my own show and reppin’ B Style Entertainment
[Chorus]
Still courageous, still feelin’ that beat
Still rap on a track, still dealin’ with beef
Still dangerous when I step in the booth
Still get in the mix when I’m reppin’ my crew
Still courageous, still represent Perth
Still expect respect when you step on my turf
Still courageous, still holdin’ it down
Still SBX and got mad love for my town
Still courageous
[Verse 2]
Quite happily take out my rap adversary
Callously a stoner wreaking havoc is Matty B
Fools get schooled at my rap academy
I kill emcees angrily so don’t try to battle me
I’ll try to break ya down gradually like torture
So fuck your metaphors and analogies
I’ll sort ya, ‘bout time you learned the lesson
I taught ya, ‘bout time you cut the crap with me
‘Cause my rap is a force to be reckoned with
Can ya handle me? Reckon you can handle yourself?
Steppin’ the Matt can be bad for ya health
Like a crack addict amassing some wealth
I’m just glad I could help a strategist implementing a plan
That was stealth and executed, inserted
Infiltrated your clan like an insurgent
You’re all washed up like detergent
Cut and hung out to dry like my shirt is
I’m just glad I could do you a service
I read the eulogy at your service
After drivin’ my sword right through the surface
Of all these half arsed pussy emcees that deserve it
The skills and training are furthered, I let it run it’s course
While you differed it [?] preferred it
Another killer track, I just served it
Indeed your feeling this shit the first time ya heard it
Matt and rhyme go together like a crime and a verdict
Word, kid, I think you heard that I’m still courageous
[Chorus]
Still courageous, still feelin’ that beat
Still rap on a track, still dealin’ with beef
Still dangerous when I step in the booth
Still get in the mix when I’m reppin’ my crew
Still courageous, still represent Perth
Still expect respect when you step on my turf
Still courageous, still holdin’ it down
Still SBX and got mad love for my town
Still courageous, still feelin’ that beat
Still rap on a track, still dealin’ with beef
Still dangerous when I step in the booth
Still get in the mix when I’m reppin’ my crew
Still courageous, still represent Perth
Still expect respect when you step on my turf
Still courageous, still holdin’ it down
Still SBX…
