Wish You The Best Lyrics by MayDay Hobby

Formal Introductions

2017

[Verse 1: MayDay]
I heard you've been sleeping in new arms
I hope it's comfortable, I hope that he's warm
I hope the money's piling up on his lap
I know you were always grabbing the stacks
I know you made it your mission
To spend every dime on some ignition
For your mind that's been made up
Love was destructive and you were fed up
I hope he takes you out to wherever you want
I hope he deals with your shit when you two are alone
I hope he's made up his mind
I hope you met at the right time
Cause loneliness was a drug
That I didn't use enough of
You owned your own remedies
Why didn't you use them on your teeth?
See, your mouth was a weapon
That you thought you could use
Any time of the month
Any plan that you choose
All the shit that you said
Made me feel like I’m better off dead
See, I already got my diploma
I don't need you to teach me how to be grown up
Why don't you do what you preach?
Why don't you stop hiding lies up your sleeve?
See, your thighs were addicting
That's why I was insisting
That I'd make it all work out
But you were busy scouting out
Some asshole who's pride you let inside
All up in you so you'd live a better life
But what's better isn't always good
That’s one thing you've always misunderstood
That extra side of happiness
Could be set on an empty plate
Wish you hadn't been such a bitch
Wish you hadn't been after that type of shit
Wish that so many things were different
But lesson learned, I'm gonna put this
On the list of forgiveness
You can go on and trust
Any motherfucker with lust
You can let them walk all over you
Let them paint green on your leopard shoes
I hope you find your own peace
I hope you choose battles you won't lose
[Hook: MayDay]
I wish you the best
Say goodbye to your past
I hope this next one will last
And be worth it, if by chance
I come across you again
Just know that I don't have any regrets
The lesson's been learned
Hope you get your turn
[Verse 2: MayDay]
I heard you've been scouting out new problems
Were the ones you caused not enough?
I heard you've been reaching out
To people you didn't before
I know that life gets complicated
I know that our time has faded
If you choose to keep living
The way you do then don't act surprised
You wasted so much time on things
That were unnecessary to begin with
You were stuck in old habits
I changed mine and you still blamed me
Sometimes the cause of your problems
Is the one you see in your mirror
Stop making so many accusations
Stop saying your past can't be helped
You're not a mannequin, I hope you know
That you need to figure this one out by yourself
Or is your new man now the one
To tell you that you're not wrong?
Like I always did just to please you
You said that my past addiction was the issue
Yet you were still working on yourself
Still making the same mistakes
You made them too many times
Forgive me if this is too real
You were always resistant
And defensive to the point
That I couldn't even get one word in
You thought it always has to be your turn
And now tell me what did
Your anger and jealousy do?
Did it turn you into something special?
Do you feel like you're now cool?
Did it make you any prettier?
Did the men say you're less skimpier?
Did you finally feel satisfied
With how you handled your pride?
Did he comfort you like I did?
Did he do everything he could
To make you feel special?
I thought that you knew
That no one can love you
If you can't love yourself
Why don't you spend your time
Improving your soul?
I know you've been broken
But don't hurt others even more
I hope you learn how to forgive
I hope you experience what happiness is
[Hook: MayDay]
I wish you the best
Say goodbye to your past
I hope this next one will last
And be worth it, if by chance
I come across you again
Just know that I don't have any regrets
The lesson's been learned
Hope you get your turn
