Worst First Lyrics by Mayor Talib

Flat Pillow Poet II

2021

[Hook]
Speak about the allegations
What about the allocations
Where is all the money
For medical bills and education
It’s going to get worse first
Gotta stay strong
It’s going to get worse first
Gotta stay strong
Way too focused on the voting
We don't like what you promoting
Wish you put the work in like the legends that you always quoting
It’s going to get worse first
Gotta stay strong
It’s going to get worse first
Gotta stay strong
[Verse 1]
Emancipate yourself from mental slavery
The bravery
It takes to do your thing
And walk alone is seen unfavorably
By almost everyone
A lot of y’all will follow fads
No originality
To notice in these hollow ads
These hollow songs hollow shows hollow books
Hollow men create the messages
Bout easy as it looks
The facts are insignificant
The public wants the libel
Make up a lot lies
And say you read them in the Bible
When you get a rival
Just hit them with ad hominem
Nobody will research it
They won’t even ask your mom and them
It doesn’t matter
If you’re pseudo intellectual
Appeal to people’s pathos
And you’ll probably be effectual
The media is full of politicians
Telling lies
Hear me when I say
The revolution won’t be televised
I’m just a common man
Who understands and got ahead
Praying for the people
Going through it cause they out of meds
[Hook]

[Verse 2]
See the racial profiling
No smiling no filing
Papers with the city
They just wanna see us go wilding
No dialing
But I call to go against the grain
Even with a vision
Life’s collisions
Often tense the brain
I sense the pain
Traveling throughout my being
Try to balance my emotions
But that ain’t what people seeing
Perception is reality
Reality’s the gospel
We lack imagination
Situations can get hostile
Ideologues be going at it with iconoclasts
Headed back to echo chambers
Saying that they gonna fast
The real are hard to find
Harder in this day and age
Folk are really cynical
It's hard for them to stay engaged
Just stay enraged
Doesn’t matter whose in office
And no amount of stimulus is
Gonna get me off this
No economic impact in fact
All my freedom is provisional
Because my skin black Lord knows
