I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change Lyrics by Melinda Schneider

Happy Tears

0

He met her on a mountain on a trek thru Nepal
She was pretty and fearless and up for it all
He was hopelessly smitten, with her fire and her charms
On a high on those mountains and again in her arms
Back on terra firma the real world again
She still drove him crazy still made his head spin
So he popped the question and they set the date
And the first thing he said after cutting the cake was
I love you you're perfect now change
Just hold still a minute while I rearrange
Everything that you are to become more like moi
I love you you're perfect now change
On their honeymoon morning they had their first spat
She put on her bikini he said "you're not wearing that"
So she put on a one piece and swallowed her pride
And told herself love was about compromise
He expected his dinner at 6 on the dot
On a tray on the sofa his favourite spot
She asked him "how'd you enjoy your ravioli"
He said "call mum and ask her for her recipe"
Oh I love you you're perfect now change
Just hold still a minute while I rearrange you
To help you become more like my mum I love you you're perfect now change
He had time to ponder his sorry ways
As he scraped ravioli from his hair and face
She fished the car keys from out of her purse
And said " call me when you've memorised this next verse"
I love you who's perfect don't change
No there isn't one thing that I'd re-arrange
Bout the one that I fell for
How could I want more
I love you who's perfect don't change
