Employee of the Month Lyrics by Mi-T (Green Mike)

2020

[Intro]
I worked way too hard
And quite frankly, I'm way too damn good at it
To sit by and let people say I don't deserve it
(Rowley on the beat)
I got the oldheads mad
I got people who went to school for it mad
I got fake friends furious
I'm the employee of the month baby
Aye
[Chorus]
All I ever do is what I want (What I want!)
They be thinkin' I ain't work enough (Work, work!)
That's why they lookin' big mad that I'm on (That I'm on!)
Got me feelin' like employee of the month (Aye!)
Aye (Aye!), All I ever do is what I want (What I want, yeah!)
They be thinkin' I ain't work enough (Work, work, work, work!)
That's why they lookin' big mad that I'm on (Big mad!)
Got me feelin' like employee of the month
[Verse 1]
I see you mad cause you been at it for a longer time than me
But that's not fair, don't compare your grind to me
I worked harder, I was focused
You was worried 'bout irrelevant nonsense, it made you slower
I can't tell you how many rappers came to my studio
Talkin' 'bout "this the one that's gonna go viral"
They don't even listen when I'm mixin' them
They go live on Instagram
Ackin' like they wrote the next Bible
Y'all ain't makin' music from the heart anymore
Y'all are worried 'bout the views and the charts and the billboard
Man, you wanna be popular
I wanna be remembered
I ain't competitive, but I know I do it better
Yessir
(Green!)
[Verse 2]
How you gonna tell me it's not for me?
You salty and I'm poppin', of course I'm corny
Ain't no stoppin, get off it
If you don't like me, then ignore me
Like dude, you're fuckin' forty, stop complainin'
If you were better, you would'a made it
I'm not even in my prime and I got you intimidated
Now you instigatin', sayin' I don't eat
Get your dentures replaced
'Cause my bars are tough, got utensils scrapin' against the plate
Aye, I guess I tend to overdo it
But I built this up from nothin'
Why would I wanna reduce it?
You don't have to like my music
But if you can't respect the movement
You don't really understand what hip-hop is, do ya?
Booyah!
[Outro]
All I ever do is what I want
They be thinkin' I ain't work enough
That's why they lookin' big mad that I'm on
Got me feelin' like employee of the month
Got me feelin' like employee of the month
