I Am Not A Trend (No Rules) Lyrics by Michael Blume

2017

{Verse 1]
I make this
You take this
We could be friends as long as you don't break this
Long Training
Years in the making
Doing something right when I love it and you hate it
Make real shit and they don't wanna listen
They want a number 1 single that glistens
Money, love, bitches
Don't you for a second get it twisted
{Pre-Chorus 1]
But I keep on doing my hardship
I keep on doing my heartfelt shit
Didn't go through all my hardships
To be bombarded by a bunch of entrepreneurs and young professionals
Getting dressed up in the vestibule
Crying about their failures
It's ok it's just the truth
{Chorus]
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I got no rules bitch, I got no rules
{Verse 2]
I talked to the prophet and she told me a lot of things
Be aware of those seeking profit when you sing
Your gift is real and you can take away the sting
Tell 'em anything
And then I realized
I got no rules
I got no rules
Yeah, I went to school and I learned 'em real cool
I've been taking notes and I've been keeping count
See I do what I do so get in or get out
{Pre-Chorus 2]
But I keep on doing my hardships
I keep on doing my heartfelt shit
Didn't go through all my hardships
To be bombarded by a bunch of people who ain't really what they say they are
Tell you that they're near but they're really far
Look at me like I'm from the planet Mars
But it's ok, I'm in the stars
{Chorus]
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I got no rules bitch, I got no rules
I got no rules bitch, I got no rules
[Bridge]
I dance how I dance
I pray how I pray
I sing what I sing
I say what I say
I'm not visiting cause I'm here to stay
I touch how I touch
I lay who I lay
[Chorus]
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I am not a trend
This is not a false alarm
I've been talking to God
This is a call to arms
I'm a new man
It's a brand new song
Let me wake you up
You wanna come along
I got no rules bitch, I got no rules
Said I got no rules, I got no rules, I got no rules
I got no rules bitch, I got no rules
[Outro]
It feels good just to dance
And it's okay for you to dance too
If that's what you want to do
