Genesis Lyrics by Michael Morris

Desolation

2016

I've been through a lot of shit in my past
Lost my mom, didn't have a dad
I feel like I'm just complainin'
But my life keeps complicatin'
Every night and every day and
Don't lose track of what I'm sayin'
I know I can be the greatest
'Cause I promise I'm not playin'
The shit I was facin', had my heart racin'
Shakin', in my room pacin'
Engravin' lies, in the walls of my mind
That I would not make it
Or I'm just wastin' my time
But I had the patience to throw them aside
Escape and leave it all behind
You just gotta believe
That in any dark room, you can find the light
You know that I'm blazed and I'm feeling amazin'
I can't explain the feelin' I get when I'm on cloud nine
So high, I'm flyin' by the imperfections I left behind
The shit that used to tear me apart inside
The shit that, dragged me down in life
I had to fight, just to make it out alive
Honestly don't know how I survived
But I just gotta thank God for the life that he's given me
I don't think that I'd want it any differently
I can't imagine a life that's lived without misery
And I don't want any sympathy
That shit doesn't mean shit to me
And I know this is just the beginning
But I swear to God this isn't the end of me
