Good morning students, and-and faculty. I just... I would like just to say a few words today to you about....my best friend Connor Murphy. We stood there on an oak tree, Connor said that, um, he wondered what the world would look like from all the way up there so um, we decided to find out
We started climbing slowly, one... one branch at a time and when I finally looked back we were already uh, thirty feet off of the ground.
Connor just looked at me and smiled that way he always did. "Keep going," he said. "Keep going 'till you see the sun."
And then I fell.
[CYNTHIA, sung]
In the dark, you were swept away

The funny part was when I hit the ground for a second, I just lay there.
[CYNTHIA]
And the world wouldn't let you stay
[EVAN, spoken]
I thought that any second now here...here he comes
[CYNTHIA]

And then I looked up and Connor reached out his hand and all of the sudden, I knew more than I'd ever known anything that I wasn't alone.
[LARRY]
I am lost in remembering

And Connor didn't always know what to say.

Did you soar on an angel's wing?
[EVAN, spoken]
Wasn't always easy for him to, to talk to people

Wasn't easy to tell his parents how much he loved them. To tell Zoe that she was the most...that she meant the entire world to him
He was always scared that because he was quiet, what if no one noticed him? What if his whole life, what if he didn't matter at all?
So wherever you are now, right now Connor, I hope you can see this or-or hear this. Um, and know in your heart that you matter. That you'll always matter. To all of us
