Stayin’ Single, Drinkin’ Doubles Lyrics by Midnight North

Scarlet Skies

0

Thought I might go out tonight, I painted on some jeans
I pulled my favorite cowboy boots all the way up to my knees
I had a double shot of courage to get me out the door
Well it went down so smoothly so I poured myself one more
And now I’m stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
Before I got myself to the bar I wound up stoned at home
Licking liquor off my lips, no time to bitch and moan
When you’re stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
I rolled out of bed this morning wearing Thursday’s clothes
Tonight is Sunday morning. Lord, is the the only way I know
There’s a pile of rolled up papers stacked on my front stairs
A little sleep my do my good, this bottle says not yet
And now I’m stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
Before I got myself to the bar I wound up stoned at home
Licking liquor off my lips, no time to bitch and moan
When you’re stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
Now it’s way past midnight, I’ve been drinking way too long
Quartered up the jukebox so I could hear my favorite song
This real smooth talker slides on over. Puts his hands around my waist
So I stole his wallet, slammed his beer, and slapped him cross the face
And now I’m stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
Before I got myself to the bar I wound up stoned at home
Licking liquor off my lips, no time to bitch and moan
When you’re stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
When you’re stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
When you’re stayin’ single, drinkin’ doubles all night long alone
