My Ex Just Fell In Love Lyrics by Miss Benny

SWELTER - EP

2023

[Intro: Thomas Sanders]
Good morning Los Feliz, it's another sunny day here in Los Angeles and we're counting down the top ten most heartbreaking things you could have seen on your phone just now. Kicking us off at number 10 we've got…
[Verse 1]
I think that my ex just fell in love
Can't say that I feel nothing at all
But damn could a girl just get a warning call
Or even a text that he's been moving on
And you should see he's so much happier now
And he got into therapy some how
Though I begged for years for him to try it out
But he didn't feel that it was worth the while
[Pre-Chorus]
Now he's somebody better, for somebody better
He wants to be better, oh God I'm so bitter
[Chorus]
I don't believe it, no it's not true
He picked up the pieces for somebody new
My mouth filled with salt when they came in the room
All I could say is I'm happy for you
I'm happy for you, I'm happy for you
I'm happy... Happy for you, I'm not happy for you
(Happy for you)
[Verse 2]
And I'm still trying to make it through this hell
While he discovered God in someone else
But fuck I'll be damned before I'll scream and yell
At least I can laugh at how the cards were dealt
And I don't wanna hear about it now
Or see the way his lover makes him smile
Do you still recall the way we used to smell?
If you came across it would you know it well?
[Pre-Chorus 2]
'Cause I still remember, of course I remember
Do you still remember? How could you forget us
[Chorus]
I don't believe it, no it's not true
He picked up the pieces for somebody new
My mouth filled with salt when they came in the room
All I could say is I'm happy for you
I'm happy for you, I'm happy for you
I'm happy... Happy for you, I'm not happy for you
(Happy for you)
[Bridge]
I had a dream
I saw you standing with him
Sight to be seen
I asked you why you did it
You said to me
“If you can be forgiven
Why can't I be?
Why aren't you happy for me?”
Happy for me
Woah, oh, oh, oh, oh
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, hey, hey, hey, oh
Not happy, no I'm not happy for you
I'm not happy, no, I'm not happy for you
Not happy, no I'm not happy for you
I'm not happy, no, I'm not happy for you
(Happy for you)
[Outro: Thomas Sanders]
That about wraps up our countdown Los Angeles, hope you aren't too heartbroken. Thank you for sticking with us. Have a great weekend, and try to stay cool in this sweltering heat
