Well I recorded in '29. Well, '28 and '29, the first recording was in Memphis, and they said 'for further recording come to New York,' and so I recorded again in New York, so ah... I was leaving Avalon and they all hated to see me leave and, first time away, that's right, my first time away. And so, uh, I just, uh, written that song, uh... And they was wavin' at me, throwing kisses, haha!
