Makin’ Excuses Lyrics by Mister Heavenly

Boxing the Moonlight

0

Throw on
That old song
Its unchanged melody
Could calm you just like me
Throw in
Some dancin'
The familiar rhythm
Clears up that schism
But he refuses
Makin' excuses
You let your hair down
Kick off your heels now
Boxin' the moonlight
Til the sunrise taps you out
Your hips snake in rhythm
Bare feet in precision
A silhouette in constant motion
Spinnin' a web to get his attention
And he refuses
Makin' excuses
He won't get down
No no no no no
I can't move to this song
I always move it wrong
I should be gone
I should be runnin' along
No I got work in the mornin'
Think I ate somethin' with poison
I'm hearin' voices
I chipped my front tooth
I am tellin' the truth
I'm not makin' excuses
I know it's alarmin'
I think I've come down with somethin'
These are not ruses
I'm not tellin' lies
I might die
I'm not makin' excuses
You got no time to mend
A garden of lemons
That he planted in his kisses
When he thought you weren't payin' attention
He's drinkin' milk so sour
Gettin' borin' by the hour
A silhouette in constant motion
Spinnin' a web of tired affection
Go in
With movement
A stiff stiletto
Will move repetto
It's so fleetin'
Bears repeatin'
I think you're makin' it up
I think you're makin' it up
I can't move to this song
I always move it wrong
I should be gone
I should be runnin' along
No I got work in the mornin'
Think I ate somethin' with poison
I'm hearin' voices
I chipped my front tooth
I am tellin' the truth
I'm not makin' excuses
I know it's alarmin'
I think I've come down with somethin'
These are not ruses
I'm not tellin' lies
I might die
I'm not makin' excuses
No I got work in the mornin'
Think I ate somethin' with poison
I'm hearin' voices
I chipped my front tooth
I am tellin' the truth
I'm not makin' excuses
I know it's alarmin'
I think I've come down with somethin'
These are not ruses
I'm not tellin' lies
I might die
I'm not makin' excuses
