Wishing on the Wrong Star Lyrics by Misty River

Promises

2021

[Verse 1]
I've been wishin' on the wrong star
It's never taken me to where you are
They play the same old tunes in every bar
And I've wondered where the hell you are
[Verse 2]
I remember you as just a boy
Drinkin' whiskey out my daddy's water bottle
Side-saddle runnin' on full throttle
Most alive I've felt in all these years
[Pre-Chorus]
But come on, let's give this chance
See, I nеver thought I would say
That I'm tired of this silly old dance
How 'bout wе try things our way?
[Chorus]
Given half the chance, l'd raise a glass
Let's say we let the old times pass
Come on and let the good times last
Come on and let the good times last
[Verse 3]
Mindin' my own business had its perks
But needin' no one isn't how life works
And I've loved you even all your quirks
Lord knows I'II never let you go
Lord knows I'Il never let you go
[Pre-Chorus]
But come on, let's give this a chance
See, I never thought I would say
That I'm tired of this silly old dance
How 'bout we try things our way?
[Chorus]
Given half the chance, l'd raise a glass
Let's say we let the old times pass
Come on and let the good times last
Come on and let the good times last
Given half the chance, l'd raise a glass
Let's say we let the old times pass
Come on and let the good times last
Come on and let the good times last
Come on and let the good times last
