I wanted a future Lyrics by Mofabdi

2023

Hello son
Are you thinking of me too
You have feelings, I hear you shout now
Aaah
Mommy
My eyes are red
I was crying as you fled
Someone tuck me
Son you need to listen to me
Or else I’m fucked
At least as a dad
I wanted a future
Now every mission is to survive
I had a job that was incredible
It was incredible
(At least as a dad)
Knock knock knock knock knock
Knock
Knock
Knock on your door
Are you hearing me son?
Oh well I thought you were dead
But to my relief you were sitting in your room listening to white noisе and extreme distortion
Max volumе
How are you really feeling?
A trauma
Son you need to listen to me or else I’m fucked
At least
At least as a dad
I wanted a future
Now every mission is to survive
I had a job that was incredible
It was
Incredible
It really was incredible
It was
It was really that
It was
It was really incredible
It was
It was perfect
And it was so damn cool
(I couldn’t)
Couldn’t live without it
And I got divorced
I’m now alone in the mansion
I want to think it’s a mansion but it’s actually a.. an apartment
And I wanted a future
And now it’s nothing at all
It’s nothing
I’m glad you’re my son
But you don’t like me at all
You don’t like me as a father
Who got your mother
Escaping from reality
Why doesn’t she take care of you?
I miss her
As much as you do
Maybe a little bit less but
Kinda the same
But I wanna take the chorus ones
Ones for all again
Just to share the message
That everyone deserves to hear
And even you my son
You should listen to me more
I wrote an album for you
With my friend Carlos
You didn’t appreciate everything
I’m trying now again
But a little bit of more
A little bit of my perspective
Little more of my perspective
A little bit more from my life
A little bit about my past
How we even met
How we even decided to get you
How I grew up
What house
What city what state
What type of parents
Ooo yeah
Knock knock knock knock knock on your door
Are you hearing me?
Are you hearing me?
Are you hearing me?
I wanted a future
Now every mission is to survive
I wanted a future
Now every mission that I find is to survive
I wanted a mission
I wanted a mission to be a man
To be the one who can
Look down at you and say
I’m proud of you
You would say to me then
You are my idol
But now I’m a loser
And I can’t even change that
I’m working at the best
Job if you don’t like to work at all
I got kicked out of the dream job
And it was so incredible
It was incredible, yeah
