I was meditating in the word where it describes the Levites carrying the Ark Of The Covenant, the very presence and glory of God
And the Lord showed me that it was a picture of the unity he desires for His people, the unity He prays for in John 17 that we would be "One as He is one withe the Father"
Every step they took they took it in unison
Every turn they made, they were one in their movement
When they ascended and descended, they did it in perfect unity, because without it they would drop the very presence of God
And they almost did
When they put the Ark on a cart instead of carrying it
Maybe it was for convenience sake
Maybe it was a lack of reverence
But as it tumbled, the man who caught it was struck dead
You see the presence of God was not made to rest on the comfortable convenience of a cart, but on the shoulders of unified men
I believe the Lord sits at the right hand of the Father today, desiring the same unity He prayed for before
I believe He hasn't just called us to carry His presence and glory personally, but to carry it corporately in unity
And when we do, it will be like Psalms 133 where it says: "The unity will flow down like the anointing oil on Aaron's head and there He commands a blessing."
What if we answered the call?
What if we took the presence off of the cart of our convenience, of our concern with what others think, our fear of man or pettiness and our flesh
What if we picked up the presence of God and carried it into the darkest places to the most despairing people?
What if we entered into the union of Jesus desired?
Would He be pleased with us?
Would we begin to see the change we prayed for?
Would we see His spirit poured out on willing vessels?
If your heart burns for unity, it starts with you
Lock arms with your brothers and sisters in one accord as carriers of His presence
Lord, teach us to be one as You are one with the Father and anoint us with unity
Pour your spirit out
