POET IN THE PARK Lyrics by Muchi

EGO UNDER CONFIDENCE (Deluxe Edition)

2022

The hardest thought is the one you just thought
The hardest wars is the one you just fought
The poorest poor is the money you sought
The most complex, best speeches ones you talked
Can I get snaps for that?
Why am I focused on past events and past events the reason that my future lacking?
But, if I’m active in my life it all starts retracting
Then, I’m back losing all my hobbies and my last passions
I actively blame it all on my ego
Say it’s mainly my people that’s keeping me so surrounded
I tried to elevate myself, but I’m grounded
I got in trouble for telling myself I’m better than ever before, but I mainly think it was cause I’m clouded
And it was cloudy on that night I wanted to fly
Appreciate the sky for what it was
So I went and did it on my own
Now, I’m drowning
Could you really say you love yourself?
That was a question
Can you really say you love yourself?
I’ll give you time to answer
You got your answer? Cool
Time to give you my answer too
I been hating myself since the day I messed up and I felt it ooo
Ego’s villain my back, and on my jaw I felt a weapon tool
One chance to make it this yo life, gotta respect it too
My life nothing but numbers, and I know that I hate decimals
You get me dog? I pit the bull
Dodge bullets direct to
Wanna be a director too
I hate me more than kids hate directed school
Sorry I’m so angry I really wish that I could help my cool
(Sigh)
Look, I know my building needs flooring
You don’t know me, but know stories
So, do you mind if I tell you a story?
It’ll only be a minute
