Thirty Day Therapy: The Experiment

(Nisho)
(Intro)
Day 2
I was talking to a friend of mine
I've known him for a minute, a few years actually and
We were talking about how we give so many names to so many types of things
Especially in music
How we'll outcast someone if they own a certain thing
(Verse 1- Category)
Classify artists to a name
Separate everybody in this thing, what a shame
Calling everybody a certain type of brand
Crazy ish that I don't understand
Let's see:
Newbie, rookie, backpack, hipster
Revolutionary, trapper, gifted
Conscious, swag-rap, punch line heavy
Thug type, really hype, not mentally ready
Mainstream, underground, gang-bang, skaters
Posers, unorthodox, violent, limit-breaking
I don't care or I don't give a fuck rappers
Individual, crack selling and snap-backing
Those hip with knowledge, some deemed ignorant
Cool, lame, wack rap, dead, deemed finished
Unrelatable, debatable, ill
Dope, fake from your soul up, real
On the come up, washed up, veteran
Best of the best, legend
Seems like a lot of categories and shit
But somehow, we're gonna try and make everybody fit...
I mean, that was it, that was the end of that
I just wanted something short and sweet
Then on day 3
I was just venting a little bit
Cause I had a lot to do this summer
Dealing with finding an internship
Just starting to plan my future
And a part of me kinda fears what'd happen if I'd make a miscalculation....
Day 3
(Verse 2- Intern(al))
Mama always told me make my own path
Teachers say you won't get a job by missing class
I was brought up to chase my dreams
Apparently at 18, at LU, it's about making cream
Resumes, internships, they can intern this
I would gesture but it's inappropriate
I'm not saying I'm lazy, but some stuff is radical
Learning some of the processes, others I barely know
You gotta stand out to get an interview
Once you're in, you can't show your inner views
What you're really meant to do
I know inside, I wouldn't be the same me up in a cubicle
I love art and music aside from the criticism
I wanna do it for a living
Being the same as everyone isn't God given
Knowing I'm an artist at heart really makes a better picture
Keep applying for stuff
Opportunity will knock soon knowing that my patience sucks
Evolution of me as a man
I'm not gonna be waiting for any hands
To give me something, I wanna climb
First step is keeping to these lines...
I mean it's kinda ironic
So many people have taught so much, that I never really say who inspires me
I mean, from DC, I gotta say
If I gotta anybody
I'd gotta say Asheru
