Best Believe Lyrics by Old Joants

2020

[Intro]
Years ago they tried to put me in a
Years ago they tried to put me in a
[Verse 1]
Years ago they tried to put me in a cage
Tryna make me feel ashamed
Tryna make me to a slave
Telling me I'd be okay
Telling me that I'd be saved
Hoping that I would behave
Tryna dig an early grave for me
Years ago they tried to hold my spirit down
Tried to tie me to the ground
Hoping I'd never be found
Hoping I won't make a sound
But I rose up louder than ever
With them chords too strong to sever
And I still got fire
Still got the hunger
Already 33, but my mind is younger
And I still got time to take back all that they took
Best believe I'll make it mine
Best believe I'll leave 'em shook
[Chorus 1]
Best believe that I'm ready to attack
Best believe that I won't be going back
Best believe I'mma make it on my own
Best believe it
Best believe it
Don't need nobody to be there for me
Don't need no one who's gonna care for me
Don't bother sendin' up a prayer for me
Leave it
Best believe it
[Verse 2]
By the power of Grayskull, I have the power
To see triumph through my tears
Y’all stay getting paid by the hour
But y’all been out on leave for years
'Cause y’all sold out
Got wives and kids
Said you’d never grow up
But y’all done did
Still had the passion but you kept it hid
'Til you lost the thread
And it came undid
'Cause that’s the truth about music
It’s use it or lose it
It don’t choose you
You choose it
Yeah, that’s the truth about music
Go on refuse it
But one day you gon’ rue it
But y’all sold out
Got jobs and cribs
Said you’d never slow up
But y’all done did
Make me wanna throw up
Like start pukin'
But now we gonna blow up
Best believe it
[Chorus 2]
Best believe that I'm ready to attack
Best believe that I won't be going back
Best believe imma make it on my own
Best believe it
Best believe it
Don't need nobody to be there for me
Don't need no one who's gonna care for me
Don't bother sendin up a prayer for me
Leave it
Best believe it
Best believe I'mma take it up to ten
Best believe that I’ll win out in the end
Best believe that I’m going in alone
Best believe it
Best believe it
Don't need nobody to be there for me
Don't need no one who's gonna care for me
Don't bother sendin' up a prayer for me
Leave it
Best believe it
[Verse 3]
Most wretched wight, whom nothing might suffice
Whose greedy lust did lack in greatest store
Whose need had end
But no end covetise
Whose wealth was want
Whose plenty made him poor
Whose wealth was want
Whose plenty made him poor
Whose wealth was want
Whose plenty made him poor
Whose wealth was want
Whose plenty made him poor
Whose wealth was want
Whose plenty made him poor
[Chorus 3]
Baby, youz a ho (Yeah, yeah)
Youz a ho (Youz a ho)
So sorry (I'm sorry, baby)
Baby, youz a ho (But youz a ho)
Sad to say (Makes me sad to say)
What it is I see (Just what it is I see)
Youz a ho (Youz a ho, girl)
Girl, I’m so sorry (Apologies)
[Outro]
Best believe
Best believe
Best believe
Best B-
Best believe, best buh
You best believe, best buh
Best believe, best buh
You best believe
