Wishes Lyrics by One of Two

Blinds

2020

That day we lay on an empty floor
Moving one too few pieces 'round the chess board
We weren't really playing chess
And by no surprise did it take us
To see how it had all worked out
That day, that day, on an empty floor
While the chess board did what the chess board's for
That day we talked as we walked on down
The impressions and the heartbeats of our home town
One of those rainy summer days
That took us from corner to corner
As we helped each other through thе words
That day, that day, left us smiling and sore
While thе summer sun did what the summer sun's for
It's another whispered wish
And it's all down the horizon
It's all down the horizon
Our rainy summer days
And walking 'cross the lakes
That day we sat 'neath the sinking clouds
In our ark on the waves, we were looking out
Chess pieces rolling on the floor
The good kind of echo around us
As fingers joined in a final wish
That day, that day, as we wash ashore
We'll know it's there, 'cause that's what it's for
It's every wish come true
As we take on the horizon
As we take on the horizon
You and I and our past
And a future meant to last
