Footprints Lyrics by Original Cast of Monstersongs

Monstersongs

2017

[Yeti]
They called me abomination on the day that I was born
Left me on a mountain
A mother's fear, a father’s scorn
I couldn't hide my hairy hands, my odd protruding horn
Just another monster
Forgotten and forlorn
Above the arctic tundra
Life is hard where nothing grows
Scavenging and shunned, raw meat, raw tears, eyes, nose
My words disappear, my songs decompose
Then you came along and everything unfroze
[Both]
No one ever believed in me
It was always touch and go, oh
No one ever believed in me
I'm footprint in the snow
Footprints in the snow
[Sasquatch]
In the dark of the forest, where the treetops all converge
I’ve been killing woodland creatures
Purging primal urge
When blood's the only warmth you have when you're the scourge
Of another redneck town
Why bother to emerge?
[Both]
No one ever believed in me
It was always touch and go, oh, oh
No one ever believed in me
I'm footprints in the snow, oh, oh
No one ever believed in me
Even when you saw my face, yeah, yeah
No one ever believed in me
I'm T-shirts in the store
Footprints you can't trace
[Sasquatch]
And then you came
And then you came
Gave me a name
And gave me a name
And then you came
And then you came
Gave me a name
Gave me a name
[Both]
And then you came
And then you came
Gave me a name
Gave me a name
[Sasquatch (Yeti)]
And then you came
(No one needs to now)
And then you came
And gave me a name
(Who cares if were found)
[Both]
No one needs to know
Who cares if were found
No one needs to know
All they'll find are footprints in the ground
All they'll find are footprints in the ground
All they’ll find are footprints in the ground
