Killer Quest! (Original) Lyrics by Original Cast of The Lightning Thief Musical

The Lightning Thief Musical (1 Hour Version)

2014

[PERCY]
Yeah, I'll do it
Not 'cause my dad needs me
He's been less of a dad and more absentee
But if my mom's alive
That's where she's bound to be
The underworld's where she was taken
She needs to know she's not forsaken
(spoken)
So what if no one's come back from the Underworld? I'll be the first!
[GROVER]
And I'll be the second first!
[PERCY]
Grover, I can't ask you to come
[GROVER]
(sung)
You're my best friend, dude
So don't get mad
But I suspect you'll need protecting when things get bad
And this kicking quest may be the best chance I've had
To put my past behind me!
So if you haven't guessed
I'm comin' on your killer quest!
[PERCY]
So bon voyage and fare me well!
[GROVER]
We're gonna fight each foe, each curse, and spell
[PERCY]
We're gonna march straight down to the gates of hell
[LUKE]
(spoken)
Underworld!
[PERCY]
Close enough!
(sung)
I'm finally gonna pass a test
[GROVER & PERCY]
We're goin' on a killer quest!
[ANNABETH]
(spoken)
Don't forget this! The official Camp Half-Blood questing backpack. Uh, I'm coming, too, Seaweed Brain. If you're gonna save the world, I'm the best person to keep you from messing up
(sung)
Five long years stuck at camp
Underneath Athena's locked down clamp
Been waitin' for my chance
To prove I'm champ
I've got mad battle strategy
My mom'll be impressed
I'm coming on your killer quest!
[PERCY & GROVER]
So blast the horns, get the flags unfurled
[PERCY, GROVER, & ANNABETH]
Past monsters, slings, and arrows hurled
We're gonna march straight down to the Underworld!
[PERCY]
(spoken)
Luke! You coming too?
[LUKE]
Oh, no, I'm needed here. But how 'bout something for the road?
[PERCY]
Shoes? Awesome. Shoes with wings?! Okay, that is awesome! So where is the Underworld?
[LUKE]
Oh, look for D.O.A. Records
[PERCY]
It's a record company? Actually, I'm not surprised
[LUKE]
Fight some monsters for me!
[PERCY]
If we're lucky, we won't run into any monsters at all!
[GROVER]
Monsters!
[ALL]
Furies!
Nasty, can't escape these!
[MRS. DODDS]
Oh, Mr. Jackson, remember me?
[ALL]
Hellhound!
All (?) with rabies!
Sweet old ladies!
[PERCY]
(spoken)
Wait, sweet old ladies?
[ECHIDNA]
You can call me Echidna!
[ALL]
With evil dead babies!
[GROVER]
When we get there, I've got a few choice words for Hades!
[PERCY & ANNABETH]
(sung)
So we're half-bloods!
Not gods but demi
[GROVER]
Won't go halfway
It's all, not semi
[ALL]
It's up to us
[PERCY]
So let me try my best
[ALL]
As we journey west
We're going on an awesome
[PERCY]
Dangerous and scary!
[ALL]
Thrilling!
[ANNABETH]
Monsterous
[GROVER]
And hairy
[ALL]
Killer hero's quest!
