Prologue (Little Shop of Horrors) Lyrics by Original Motion Picture Cast of Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

1986

[NARRATOR, spoken]
On the twenty-third day of the month of September
In an early year of a decade not too long before our own
The human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence
And this terrifying enemy surfaced, as such enemies often do
In the seemingly most innocent and unlikely of places
[CRYSTAL & RONETTE & CHIFFON, sung]
Little Shop, Little Shop of Horrors
Little Shop, Little Shop of Terror
Call a cop, Little Shop of Horrors
No, oh, oh, oh no
Little Shop, Little Shop of Horrors
Bop sha-bop, Little Shop of Terror
Watch 'em drop, Little Shop of Horrors
No, oh, oh, oh no
Shing-a-ling-shing-shing-a-ling-thing, what a creepy thing to be happening (Look out, look out, look out, look out)
Shang-a-lang-shang-shang, feel the sturm and drang in the air (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Sha-la-la, stop right where you are, don't you move a thing
You better, you better, I'm tellin' you, you better
Tell your mama something's gonna get her
She better, everybody better beware
Oh, here it comes, baby
Tell the bums, baby
Oh, oh no
Oh, hit the dirt, baby
Red alert, baby
Oh, oh no
Oh, oh no
Alley-oop-oop, haul it off the stoop, child, I'm warning you (Look out, look out, look out, look out)
Run away-way, run away-way, child you're gonna pay if you fail (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Look around, look, something's coming down, down the street for you
You betcha, you betcha butt, you betcha
Best believe it, something's come to getcha
You betcha, you better watch your back and your tail (Come-a, come-a, come-a)
Little Shop, Little Shop of Horrors (Little Shop)
Bop sha-bop, you'll never stop the terror (Little Shop)
Little Shop, Little Shop of Horrors
No, oh, oh, oh no (Oh, oh no)
Oh, oh, oh no (Oh, oh no)
Oh, oh, oh no (Oh, no)
