New Semester Lyrics by Originaljmoney

2017

You know my momma always ask me... why you don't ever be doin yo school work?/
I never see you doin no work. When do you make time for your.. for your studying?/
[verse 1]
Another late night.. up tryna make these rhymes right/
Nobody's perfect I know greatness take time right?/
They hate that I prefer to be inside the lime light, teachers tell me pay attention I could get my mind right but../
I ain't trippin tho we still tryna get it tho/
Tryna get pass nearly failed my first class but I had still set principles/
Routines turned traditional/
All the bad decisions had good intentions/
But at this point they seem minuscule/
I was in detention shouting fuck the school, its stupid rules and everyone who worked there too/
Always tryna hold me back because of my lil miscues/
Tryna get ahead and had gum on my shoes/
I had the feeling I had something to prove, even though I don't have nothing to lose.. I didn't wanna be a loser/
They say, that life is lengthy it feel short as a ruler/
And.. school back in session know we all need a tutor/
You know.. same shit different day its just the fuckin usual/
I hope for brighter days that's why I'm workin towards the future/
Cause everyday I wake I hope that they would free Scooter/
Until that day comes I'm just teachin the prosecutor
{hook}
Cause it's a new semester!/
Pay attention cause you gotta listen to this song/
And it's a new semester!/
You live and you learn but I just gotta move on (and move on)
And it's a new semester (it's a new semester!!)
Schools almost out I hope it don't take too long/
Cause it's a new semester!/
They still assigning papers so we gotta write on and write on/
[verse 2]
Up in the principles office again for how I'm acting/
Said I should cut my behavior and now they takin action/
Both earbuds in my class and they called it distractions/
I use to plot on my dreams the only time I was graphing/
I got benched down at Grafton/
Say I didn't do my job I say they overreacting/
I make up stories of how it happened like../
No I didn't take her in the bathroom, that was simply off of her reaction/
And despite all my tardies I mean I swear I was a good kid.. I mean I only skipped the easy classes/
Cause look/
My team too strong/
I came too far to simply quit and comeback home/
I check my time, it's time to get that audemar/
I write this song, it take so long, I guess it's just my write alongs/
It might be fate, these cards I draw, I'm up to par/
I look up, and sing to God!/
{hook}
Cause it's a new semester!/
Pay attention cause you gotta listen to this song/
And it's a new semester!/
You live and you learn but I just gotta move on (and move on)/
And it's a new semester (it's a new semester!!)
Schools almost out I hope it don't take too long/
Cause it's a new semester!/
They still assigning papers so we gotta write on and write on
