Canción para mi río Lyrics by Osiris Rodríguez Castillos

Canción para mi río

0

Era... un viejo peregrino
Gustaba copiar sauces
Y pájaros y lunas
Con él aprendí a volcar el cielo
Y a sumar estrellas con mojarras
Que es todo cuanto sé
Esta canción para mi río
Sólo quiere que vean como me miraba en él
El río, rumbo que canta
Fue mi maestro primero
Junto a su espejo viajero
Creció indígena mi planta
Él me puso en la garganta
Las voces elementales
Cuando en tardes estivales
Pasaba verde su canto
Como un torrente del llanto
Vertido por los sauzales
Azul, de noches serenas
Penas de cielos nublados
Cantos, de cantos rodados
Rodando por sus arenas
Ternuras dichas apenas
Rebeldías desbordadas
Súbitas luces robadas
A los cielos invernales
Cual si templara puñales
En sus entrañas heladas!
También yo, templaba un rayo
Con avaricia febril
Juntaba estrellas de abril
Para los versos de mayo
Miré pasar, de soslayo
Mis colores alboreros
Buscaba los verdaderos
Acordes del sentimiento
Junto al relincho del viento
Desflecado en los esteros
Y ambicionaba el arrullo
Milenario de mi río
Para hacer el viaje mío
Con la música del suyo
Cierta noche, en que un cocuyo
Pitaba en su placidez
Alcé mi canto, y tal vez
Por orgullo, o por alago
Me puso el cielo del pago
Con estrellas a los pies
Y crucé por su picada
Milagrosa de reflejos
Y él me ascendió cantos viejos
Por la sangre iluminada
Limpia luna, cincelada
Por su peregrinación
Cuajó el primer medallón
De mi rastra; y ya en la orilla
Me encendió la maravilla
Del lucero en el talón!
Destino dulce, y amargo
De rumoroso sendero
Salí armado, caballero
Del canto y del viaje largo
He dejado, sin embargo
Tan honda raíz en él
Que aún soy sobre el tiempo, aquel
Muchacho del mojarrero
Que hizo un sueño marinero
Para un barco de papel...
