They told us that cannabis was something to demonize
They called it by its Spanish name to stoke the racists' fears
And the prejudice continues through the years
They lock up people of color at a much, much higher rate
The racist pigs fill prisons to get money from the state
Even though the studies show that white folks smoke it too
The facts don't matter to the bacon boys in blue
Why don't we jail the CEOs of the opioid companies?
Who push their pills on the sick and old just as often as they please
You know, they're the real criminals, not folks like you and me
But 'til it’s legal, I’ll use it illegally
Folks should have the right to take whatever drug they please
Addiction isn't criminal, it’s a neurological disease
The cannabis movement will prevail
Because stoner folks don't belong in jail
So smoke it up, and pass that shit to me
