Backwaters Lyrics by Plain Ride (Finland)

House on the Hill

0

I'm going to the backwaters
Spend my life drinking coffee or tea
No more fooling around with toddy
No more wasted days and weeks
I'm going to the backwaters
Where the narrow channels sleep
Where the arrows they just can't hurt me
They just let me be what I already am
Through with cocaine
And sniffing glue
In the gutters of this town
Worse than sad
My heart is black and blue
I swear you babe it's true
I'm going to the backwaters
Need a silent place to wash my brain
Giving up a dream
Feels like killing
But I'll leave my guilt
Floundеring on the shore
Sold my guitar
To the man on thе street
Thought I wouldn't need it ever more
I was whistling on my way to the bank
But the money I got
Was counterfeit
I picked up a code name
From now on
You can call me Early Worm
I'll lie in a long green
Grass on the field
Spying on what I've been
I'm going to the backwaters
Spend my life drinking coffee or tea
No more crying after my lost luck
There's a new canoe waiting at the dock
I'm going to the backwaters
See I need a place to call my own
So long sorrows
And farewell heartache
But I just don't know
