Flash Forwards to Forbidden Futures Lyrics by Proper John

Flash Forwards to Forbidden Futures

2020

I’m a daddy now I’m tripping, and mama stripping
Ain’t no time to have a baby with the way we living
But we kept her cuz we're kinda Muslim kinda Christian
I say kinda cuz we criticized by our religions
Money’s never quite tight but it’s spent poorly
We tried to afford the city life but it went poorly
We in our early thirties worried like we turning forty
In a single wide smoking watching Rick and Morty
Episode 11 season 7 with Kevin Corey
When Pheonix person fall off from the 7th story
On interdimensional cable on planet boring
We’ve seen this one before but we rexploring our favorites this morning
Our life is peaking like a mountain as we try to climb it
As the world around us burns in the drier climate
We represent the human struggle cuz we try to hide it
And try turn back time a decade but we can’t rewind it
I’m having flash forwards
Forbidden futures that i’m moving towards
Running from the past keep me moving forwards
I’m stumbling on the path, but i’m shooting for the
Dream, i’m doing me but I do it for em
If I don’t reach the top, i prolly die a boredom
Secondary objectives I don’t find important
I don’t play the side missions I abort em
But i’d never tell a women go n kill a kid
That would murder me inside cuz I’m still a kid
But I’m the type that wanna raw dog and nut inside
Flash forwards to the call when she know it’s mine
When she know
And the loneliness is synergetic
On the journey to discover if God really meant it
When he said that we had purpose on his perfect planet
But we don’t know if that applies with the world in panic
Fake smiles painted on trauma my girl is manic
Struck awake by feelings of falling like when you twirl a hammock upside down
The bars lower when she turn to Xanax
She try to stay sober but it’s less romantic
I’m chilling with my kids on the couch
Out in the country n outta the south
My son’s talking with raisin bran in his mouth
Asking daddy whats it mean to be filled up with doubt
Can’t look at him now, cuz it’s happening now
Don’t wanna answer that question too well
In case he can tell, I’m getting saved by bell
Every 2 minutes in hell
Oh yeah
Forbidden futures that I’m moving towards
I tell him all doubts are fear
But he ain’t gotta worry bout tat here
I ask him if made myself clear
He don’t seem to buy it I fear
I put a fake smile ear to ear
Up up up tryna cheer up
My kid never seen my tears
But he about to see em I fear
