King Lycaon Lyrics by Ragù (Rap Group)

2023

[Chorus]
You might have known me way back then/
Way before I went insane like them/
Best you be ready ’cause the time may come/
And I’m still a fanatic; King Lycaon
[Verse]
I wrote my first rhymes on a jobseekers-leaflet/
Started with a USB, that Ejay-beat set/
In seventh grade I spit my first shit during recess/
And that’s how you drown in the sea ‘fore even getting your feet wet/
Quite rightly every one considered me corny/
With my broken English, stolen gimmick, shit-schemes, boring/
My self-esteem? Floored it. Virginity? Solid!/
Half-bite, half-shite, dark nights, fallen and for years/
I’d mime along in my room to that blaring rap/
And staring in the mirror, I’d really feel Sticky’s glaring back/
I still believe in meritocracy, there’s something fair in that/
The toil is going on when you feel like you’re gonna tear in half/
When I fucked up a line their laughter it was hollow and mean/
Holler and shriek, they smacking their knees and I would swallow defeat/
The staff ain’t say jack because their methods, man. They probably won’t teach/
That’s how you turn a dog into a mythological beast/
[Chorus]
You might have known me way back then/
Way before I went insane like them/
Best you be ready ’cause the time may come/
And I’m still a fanatic; King Lycaon
[Verse]
I’m a monster raised on mom’s spaghetti, God’s son across the belly/
The cross is heavy, the call’s angelic, personal war, Casus Belli/
Can’t beat everyone but hold a candle to all, always ready/
Rather deadly when you hand me the mic and a large Moretti/
Life ain’t been a fairytale I cherish hell like temples/
‘cause it home it was tension and my mom she went mental/
And my fathers parental style was hard and essential/
Now I’m smart and I’m vengeful, that’s the mark of the devil/
To my mates it was music and to me it was life/
It was the thing that made me special, Now I leap back in time/
You know how much this music-shit done forced my geek-ass to fight/
To be even half-decent, dreamed of leaving it when Freddie said/
Don’t crumble now, come on, pal, double down, a slugger, huh?/
For the culture in my multiverse there’s a classic pattern /
No matter their laughing, I never took it as a laughing matter/
And no matter what happens I can sure handle massive challenge/
[Chorus]
You might have known me way back then/
Way before I went insane like them/
Best you be ready ’cause the time may come/
And I’m still a fanatic; King Lycaon
