The Story of Death Lyrics by Raxstar

Content

2022

[Verse 1 - Raxstar]
I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, I did what I had to
It's time to go, I'm here to take your soul, I know it's sad to
See the tears of mothers and brothers crying, I'm truly sorry
They come with me and you realise a body's just a body
Dressed in all black and following pandemics and wars
In the old days I was an angelic force
Now they paint me as a villain, it's treacherous
Death is definite, impossible to escape its clutches
Irrelevant how much money you made
You can't bribe me or take it with you
All you carry is your karma, everything else is superficial
Why do people think that they're gonna live forever?
Life changes at the flip of a coin like British weather
I've seen rivers of tears wash away rivers of blood
I've seen imminent fear turn to submission and love
The one thing I'll teach you is that life is very fleeting
So make peace with everyone that you love before you meet me
[Verse 2 - Raxstar]
I saw you a handful of times when I was younger
Took my dhadhi and my massi and I would sit and wonder
If I knew you, could I negotiate and make amends?
You could bring them back and not take anyone else ever again
This don't even make sense, why'd you have to take them?
Why'd you come back for my dad? Why'd you have to take him?
Why'd you take Dharam? Why'd you take my cousin?
Why'd you take my massar while we were praying for them?
Why is this so hard? What did we do wrong?
Why am I struggling every day while life goes on?
Does anyone else feel this pain I'm feeling?
Death, where are you now? Please give me a reason
Rax I can't answer your questions
I just come to take their souls when it's time for me to get them
And time is like pain, you can't go back and change her
One day we all gonna have to meet our maker
