Lost Potential Lyrics by Ray Rife

Simplicity: The First Recordings EP

Ray Rife
Uh
Work wit me
And this the lightest shit I ever wrote
(Verse)
Turn my back to all the danger
I ain't scared of nothin I'm starin all through Medusa
Why fear her eyes? For being stoned I'm kind of used to
Not talking bout weed, I'm talkin stuck in the moment, appalled by what
We callin a freedom I see condonin'
Now, who's to trust in the beginning? Friends want you to fail
Or even worse, God's givin us hell
I pre-vail, it could improve but I fair well
When I farewell, please tell the truth about my tale, uh
Triple entendre you missed it so never mind it
My plans to explode to the top don't undermine it
I'm sicker than vomit that came from the pains of a llama
Allergic to tonic that over drank on dirty vodka, uh
I appreciate the complicated ways of life
If it were easy I'd be greedy for things I never liked
To desire something is simple, to attain requires work
And you know you really want it when it hurts, uh
I always had the skill, but practice never happened
Like how I'm supposed to practice silly rappin?
If I dont improve my craft, then I don't deserve to have it
And hard work will be the talent when its passion doesnt match it
Thats Real shit, I'm going crazy and bettin' against them odds
Comin from so afar but I'm closer than a mirage
Big dreams of marchin' on Martians that live on Mars
And shootin for solar wars, while you aimin' shots at the stars, uh
Speakin of shootin, I'm tired of these fraudy niggas
Talkin the hardest shit off softer liquor
They get a little buzz, but for their image try to stunt, talkin guns
When they drier than a nun, those are cannons I could hardly picture
Real quick, I would like to give some gratitude
To Ms. Karen what you showed to me's incredible
I know you see your son he's a graduate too
We takin' care of him, know that you'd be proud of him too uh
My brother Tim, I know you listenin'
One more thing about her I wanna tell you
She was the person that inspired me to spit it more than I was givin
Under her condition she kept livin just how she want to live it
A strength from within thats unmatched, I'm so thankful for that
Now my heart is harder to crack
How can it be, that we commemorate the lost memories?
Lets get the candles lit, spark the cannibus, in a canopy
And let our thoughts grace the gates of the heavens
Any problems we solve em, no floppin like James Harden
I need to score harder, so the team can go farther
I would never shave points I leave that job to my barber
Saints roll with the demons
Love can't live without evil but which role are you leadin?
Followers, follow followers where did all of the leaders go?
Can you see this smoke, kids breathe and choke?
That's why the inferior defeat us
Talkin under they breath, by the system now annoyed
But they'ont fathom the power that's in their voice
I seen peer pressure make feared gestures too possible
Influence the masses with habits only fit for hospitals
Why talk bout hopin I make it, when I know I'll make it?
A few know, just give some time til the rest awaken
Im sorry, you're uncomfortable with my confidence
But would you rather me to be cocky by all the compliments?
I gotta talk to the youth, I hope they give a listen
Their generation's based off our decisions
So many voices in the world, rarely speakin to our children
Just wanna instill in them, that music, drugs, and ball
Huh.. Ain't the only way to make a livin
Its Rife
