Welcome to the Bridge Lyrics by Read B. Verses

Products of Our Environment

0

[Intro: Read B Verses]
"Yeah. Thank you everybody. We'd like to welcome you to the Bridge. Products of our environment. Yeah."
[Verse 1: Read B Verses]
Feet, shout it with the gospel of peace bearing, just let us in
Peacekeepers set 'em any settlement they set us in
Great Physician, He ain't never meddle with your medicine
Let's take you to the text again, blessings in these testaments
Service, tryna clean up these streets like I'm a street sweeper
Death, His armor guards me from your sting like a beekeeper
These devils playing for keeps, there ain't no peace treaties
Stay seated in Jesus is what we keep teaching
I admit it, I probably should be admitted
They say I'm sick with it, they warring to get rid of Christians
But I would never give up my privilege to be a witness
And I would never sit on this, simply see you in prison, huh
How much truth can a brother defend
They got believers making idols out of colors of skin
Instead of brothers telling us to repent, last time I checked, son
There's never been a bunch of different colors of sin
And if you wanna get specific 'bout percentages
Do we really bicker over 2 percent differences, yeah
Really, this sin is skin deep
Only sin can make something simple as skin deep
Race was constructed to keep us in sin, weak
'Cause power over others is really what men seek
We really want freedom but we flee from the call
But being slaves to Satan ain't no freedom at all
We all slaves to sin, we can't be free from the Fall
So He just lets us be, gives us the freedom to fall
The freedom to fail, that leads us to Hell
The writing's on the wall but we're not reading it well
He is the living water, take a drink from that well
You're in the belly of the beast, we'll set you free from that whale
This world is colder than a hockey game, beat you like a Rocky clip
So I preach to keep us out of H-E-double hockey sticks
Hotter than a sake sip, I don't like the politics
Liars like a polygraph, bind 'em like a body cast
Stopping all these impostors, possibly, they posture's bad
Probably should be prostrate but proud of the apostates
Stop, wait, Read, you talking nonsense
Non-conforming statements get you nothing but more conflict
Get in where you fit in, gotta get in just to get along
I ain't into that, so I petition when I get a [?]
Pay attention to the Spirit when I pen a song
Pay attention to what's written when I get it on
I love spitting, depicting what's in the Scriptures
See, I describe prescriptions the doctor prescribed for sinners
See, I am seeking wisdom, subscribe for the timeless vision
See, my composition brings calm to the competition, yeah
I'm trying to bring Christian rappers' conscience back
Cats tryna reach you, so they go and make that conscious rap
Hope that pricks your conscience, bro, he don't see the cons in that
All these little gods in rap when all we need is God in rap
Searching for the stars of rap almost like an almanac
All that's kinda nutty, look for all the [?] their armor's cracked
Over that rock of Gibraltar, down at the altar
That's all we got to offer 'em, He gave His life as offering, huh
For all of them, you can't change the odds for 'em
His awesomeness is awful and I also like His flawlessness, yeah
We are all products of our environments
I grew up used to the cop sirens and shots firing
Narcs coming, ducking and hiding and not finding 'em
[?] leaves and chucks in the trees, they not finding 'em
Then I touched the hem of His garment, sin in the garbage
I'm guarded from all the carnage, I'm targeting all my tarnishes
I feel like I'm ballroom waltzing with it
I got the Bible on me, leaning when I'm walking with it
I only wanna listen to you if you talking scriptures
You fake pastors get the boot like a parking ticket
Play your cards right, Read, and we all can get it
But I don't got a full deck, I think some cards is missing
I got a squad who work hard and we all committed
Call it suicide, we all could be martyred Christians
Fry these chickens, hot sauce, little parsley with 'em
'Cause I like my wings red, didn't [lock in?] with it
It gets hard to bear my cross when I'm walking with it
But I ain't walking in that [?] unless my God is in it
Welcome to the Bridge, baby, we ambassadors
We are all Phanatiks, that's word to Ambassador
And if the [wells?] one's dry, got the tonic for you
That's true life, Christ paid the Father for you
The sky will break, the earth will shake like an earthquake
And we'll cruise like Enoch to our birthplace
While y'all playing 2K we keep the cross moving
The way we handle it will rock you like the Cross Movement
Yeah
[Outro: Julie Choi]
"We are all products of our environments, whether we're black, white, red, brown, or yellow; affluent or impoverished; blue-collar or white-collar; metropolis or suburban; urban or rural; we all have unique experiences and influences that God has used, in His providence, to develop us into the people we are today. But despite our diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, there's one thing that we all have in common, and that's sin. Yes, all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and our crimes against God have created a great chasm separating our dying world from that living world, our Maker's. No amount of human intellect, reason, ingenuity, religion, philosophy, or morality can assist us in crossing that gulf. All our devices are either too short or too unstable for us to make it to God. There is only one bridge that can help us. It is our only way of salvation. One mediator between God and man: the God-man Christ Jesus. He is that narrow way, the living water, the manna from Heaven. He is that bridge. I am His only ambassador that would love to welcome you to Him. Welcome to the Bridge."
