My Grave in Largo Lyrics by redveil

Bittersweet Cry

2019

[Spoken Word]
Nah, I think it's kinda like important for my kids to be in PG, probably
'Cause like isn't it the wealthiest black county or something like that, right? (Ah-ah-ah)
It's like— You know what I'm sayin?
I want them to live well off and shit
But I also want them to like have experience with their own culture, and shit
Uh, You know what I mean?
I want them to— I want them to
You know already be familiar with the black experience
Like that's a part— that's a part of your identity
You know what I mean?
To have that color of skin, and like to be completely separated from the culture
I think is like, fucked up to be like—
'Cause like, I mean what I could do is y'know what I'm sayin
I could be fuckin' wealthy and rich and have a kid in like a wealthy white town
And its like— yeah, okay, okay, whatever but they would be completely disconnected from their culture
And like, would see their own shit as lesser than them, or inferior because they never experienced it
They never been around people that were experiencing it
They don't even see these people as like equal humans to them, despite the fact that you now they are, uh
'Cause especially—, especially when you think about the different types of black people that we have here
It's like— it's crazy
You're going to run into like every type of black motherfucker here
You feel me? It's not like—
If-if-if you never grow up around black people and like the only thing you see of them is in the media
And what they're telling you is that black people can only play basketball, be a rapper, like shoot each other in the streets
And that's what you're going to think, that's what your judgement on black people is gonna become and it's going to be even worse if like
I have a kid that has the same judgement on black people sayin' that they're their own people
And you understand it, like the culture is beautiful you feel me?
And like, that comes from familiarizing yourself with it
So I said "Yeah, they need to be in PG, probably"
It's like, uh, a fantastic [?]
