I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy Lyrics by Restless Road

Last Rodeo

2023

[Verse 1]
I was keeping things simple
Same bar, same drinks, same neon lights
I was cool with being single
The last thing on my mind was a ride or die
I wasn't trying to fall
Wasn't looking for nothing
But you showed up, girl
And all of a sudden
[Chorus]
I don't wanna be that guy on Friday night
Where your friends all say, "I told you"
Buy you a drink and tell you things
But never get to know you
I know I got a heartbreak reputation
Something tells me that tonight you're gonna change it
I swear them hazel eyes, they hit me like a Louisville Slugger
Ain't no amount of whiskey now gon' help me recover
I used to be the love and leave you kind
But I'm loving how with you, baby, I
I don't wanna be that guy
I don't wanna be that guy
[Verse 2]
I wasn't thinking 'bout the long haul
But whatever you did, girl, you flipped that switch
Now it's quarter past last call, then you're leaning in
For a never-wanna-say-goodnight kiss
I don't even care where the old me went
[Chorus]
No, I don't wanna be that guy on Friday night
Where your friends all say, "I told you"
Buy you a drink and tell you things
But never get to know you
I know I got a heartbreak reputation
Something tells me that tonight you're gonna change it
I swear them hazel eyes, they hit me like a Louisville Slugger
Ain't no amount of whiskey now gon' help me recover
I used to be the love and leave you kind
But I'm loving how with you, baby, I
I don't wanna be that guy
I don't wanna be that guy
[Chorus]
I don't wanna be that guy on Friday night
Where your friends all say, "I told you"
Buy you a drink and tell you things
But never get to know you
I know I got a heartbreak reputation
But something tells me that tonight you're gonna change it
I swear them hazel eyes, they hit me like a Louisville Slugger
Ain't no amount of whiskey now gon' help me recover
I used to be the love and leave you kind
But I'm loving how with you, baby, I
I don't wanna be that guy
I don't wanna be that guy, yeah
[Outro]
(I wasn't trying to fall)
(Wasn't looking for nothing)
(But you showed up, girl)
(And all of a sudden)
I don't wanna be that guy
I don't wanna be that guy
