Couple Months In LA Lyrics by Rexx Life Raj

2024

[Intro]
Ayy, look
Ayy
[Chorus]
Quiet the noise, silence your mind, better yourself
Get back to the basics, bro, you done got ahead of yourself
It's a dick swingin' competition, how you measure yourself
If you a boss then pay yourself like you're in debt with yourself
I need more convos with niggas on the same wave that I am
Tired of wastin' my breathe, retracin' my steps
Unnecessary expectations got me feelin' the stress
A couple months in Los Angeles, I feel the effects
[Verse 1]
How do you stay sane when everything is insane?
But I was raised by some real niggas, this shit ingrained
Under all this California sun, they still send shade
But all that hate don't get your rend paid, bitch ass nigga, yeah
All them jokes and you're still broke
Hatin' on them niggas that be really runnin' plays, yeah
Me, I'm in the laboratory sparkin' up a J
Gettin' busy with this music, bro, I'm only one away, huh?
If you want better for yourself, nigga, act like it
If it ain't no plan movin' forward, you're backslidin'
I started changin' for the formula I'm franchisin'
Trimmin' off this extra fat, bitch, downsizin', yeah
[Chorus]
Tryna better myself
Gettin' back to the basics, bro, I got ahead of myself
It's a dick swingin' competition, how you measure yourself
If you a boss then pay yourself like you're in debt with yourself
I told you a couple things I could've kept to myself
And then you went and ran your mouth, I'll keep the rest to myself, yeah
Bitch, I keep the rest to myself, yeah
[Post-Chorus]
Quiet your mind (Quiet your mind)
Yeah, you're too busy worried 'bout time, my boy, be patient (Yeah)
You gotta be patient (Yeah)
'Cause life don't always come at your speed
So sometimes you need (Sometimes you need)
Uh, you need to be patient (You need to be patient)
[Verse 2]
Ayy, look, ayy
I risked it and took a dive, I'm keepin' this shit alive
I'm tryna make the most of it, I know we on borrowed time
I'm tryna keep hope alive, I'm tryna get close to God
You gotta pick faith or fear but most us tote the line
Put that work in, you won't get the credit most of the time
It's cool to be a role player as long as the roles defined
As long as you learnin' from it and growin' over the time
So when your moment rocks up, you'll shine
It's all about balance, the ebs, the flows, the hot, the cold
The highs, the lows, the niggas, the hoes, the world, your soul
Little buddy tryna fist fight a nigga with a pole
My boy, can't control everything, let it go, uh
You gotta move the fear out the way to let it grow, huh
But if you never try, you'll never know
Little quick reset for you, bounce back in your mode
[Chorus]
You gotta quiet the noise, silence your mind, better yourself
Get back to the basics, bro, you done got ahead of yourself
It's a dick swingin' competition, how you measure yourself
If you a boss then pay yourself like you're in debt with yourself
I need more convos with niggas on the same wave that I am
Tired of wastin' my breathe, retracin' my steps
Unnecessary expectations got me feelin' the stress
A couple months in Los Angeles
[Post-Chorus]
Quiet your mind (Quiet your mind)
Yeah, you're too busy worried 'bout time, my boy, be patient (Yeah)
You gotta be patient (Yeah)
'Cause life don't always come at your speed
So sometimes you need (Sometimes you need)
Uh, you need to be patient (You need to be patient, oh)
