LIFE IS GOOD Lyrics by Ricky Byrd

Sobering Times

2021

If you’ve ever wondered
Where have i been
I was goin’ under
It was sink or swim
I sent out an s.o.s
Someone throw a line
I was barely treadin’ water
Man i don’t miss those desperate times
I cried out…help me, save me, love me
Until i can love myself
Cause it’s been hell
I’m ready for change
To turn the page
Show me how to stay out of my way
Oh yeah life is good
It’s gettin’ better like i heard it would
It sure ain’t perfect but it beats how it was
Cause i’m the kind that never knew
When enough was enough
Now life is good
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Pain was my companion
Together we would roam
And by any means necessary
We’d do what we had to
To get us where we gotta go
I was flyin’ blind, livin’ to die, built on lies
I could not stop myself
I needed help
Cause’ i didn’t have a clue, what to do
Then i learned the only way out is through
Oh yeah life is good
It’s gettin’ better like i heard it would
It sure ain’t perfect but it beats how it was
Cause i’m the kind that never knew
When enough was enough
Now life is good
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Life is good (oh oh oh)
Answers that i could not find
Were waiting on the other side
I only had to let you in
And take a gamble, place my bet
And let it ride, let it ride, let it ride
Oh yeah life is sweet
Cause i got my self off that dead end street
Things ain’t perfect but it beats how it was
Cause i’m the kind that never knew
When enough was enough
Now life is good
