Get Out of the Boat Lyrics by Ron M Wilson

Time to Get Out of the Boat

1983

[Verse 1]
Well Peter and the boys one day were sailin' on the sea
Until the Lord came strollin' by and said "Peter come to me"
Peter he jumped overboard with his hat his shoes his coat
You see, if you wanna walk on the water, you gotta get out of the boat
[Chorus]
Well if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of the boat
You gotta put your faith in the Son of God and I will guarantee you'll float
Give your life to Jesus make Him your only hope
'Cause if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
[Verse 2]
Well listen to me brothers for what I say is true
The things He did for Peter, you know, He wants to do the same for you
You say you want to serve Him, He's your life, your joy, your hope
Well if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of the boat
[Chorus]
I said if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of the boat
You gotta put your faith in the Son of God and I will guarantee you'll float
Give your life to Jesus make Him your only hope
'Cause if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
[Verse 3]
Well like Peter we go struttin' then we start to look around
We get caught up in all them worldly things that start to drag us down
And then we cry Lord save me and just before we drown
There He is, we're safe again, back home on solid ground
[Chorus]
I said if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of the boat
You gotta put your faith in the Son of God and I will guarantee you'll float
Give your life to Jesus make Him your only hope
'Cause if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
(Well if you) wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of the boat
You gotta put your faith in the Son of God and I will guarantee you'll float
Keep your eyes on Jesus make Him your only hope
'Cause if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
[Outro]
(I'll say it) if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
(Once more) if you wanna walk on the water you gotta get out of that boat
