I Tried Lyrics by Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics

State of All Things

0

[Verse 1]
You know Marvin Gaye said it perfectly, “When did i stop loving you, you stop loving me,” walking down this road together
I forgot I had planned better now it’s so still i can feel the breeze and its rolling right past me
[Pre Chorus]
And I see us fading to dark as the sun and long months pass by and baby we have tried to give it all our love so why are we wasting all our time
[Chorus]
WellI tried and I tried and I tried
Well I tried
Said I tried and I tried believe me I tried and I
Tried and I tried
[Verse 2]
You know it's getting bad when your friends chime in they’ve never seen you this way and don’t want to again
So do we brace for the next storm or head inside to where its warm cuz its so cold I can feel the rain been coming down for days
[Pre Chorus]
And I see us fading to dark as the sun and long months pass by and baby we have tried to give it all our love so why are we wasting all our time oh yea
[Chorus]
WellI tried and I tried and I tried
Well I tried
Said I tried and I tried believe me I tried and I
Tried and I tried
So why are we wasting all our time?
[Chorus very stripped down]
Well I tried and I tried and I tried well I tried and I tried and I tried believe me I tried and I tried and I tried
Now baby all theres left to do is cry
[Ad libs] ooo, you know I tried, oh baby on baby ooo, you know I tried, oh baby on baby ooo, you know I tried, oh baby on baby ooo, you know I tried, now all there’s left to do is say goodbye
