Minas y Abril Lyrics by Santiago Chalar

Lo Mejor

1978

[Letra de "Minas y Abril" ft. Santos Inzaurralde]
[Recitado: Santos Inzaurralde]
Soy fruto de los cerros
Mi cuna fue de piedra
Y mi tumba será también, sin duda
Algún rincón soleado de la sierra
Nací, crecí, como el clavel del aire
Prendido entre las grietas
De esas piedras pizarras de mi pago
De aquel bravo y arisco Lavalleja
[Verso 1: Santiago Chalar]
Minuano, donde tú vayas
No te canses de decir
Que si Dios baja a la tierra
Por el altar de la sierra
Baja en Minas y en abril
Negra tierra labrantía
Naranja nubes de abril
Verde luz de los sauzales
Y en las cañadas añil
Por las calles oro viejo
Los cerros pizarra y gris
Si te gustan los colores
Mira el prisma de esas flores
Cuando las florece abril
Nunca más limpios los aires
Atardecer de jazmín
Ven que la luna creciente
Con aguas del Penitente
Llena su copa en abril
[Recitado: Santos Inzaurralde]
Me adormecí con cantos de chicharras
Volé en las tijeretas
Y le corté a la noche de mi pago
Para el recuerdo, su mejor estrella
Bajé y trepé los espinazos duros
De las quebradas nuestras
Y entre las medias luces de la tarde
Recorté de horizontes mi silueta
[Verso 5: Santiago Chalar]
Nunca más limpios los aires
Nunca más claro el perfil
Y ese temblor de horizontes
Y amarillo de esos montes
Cuando los madura abril
De ennoviarla en el otoño
No te vas a arrepentir
La hizo novia el Arequita
Minas por siempre bonita
Pero mas linda en abril
