Sombra Fiel Lyrics by Santiago Chalar

Minas y Abril

1978

[Letra de "Sombra Fiel"]
[Recitado: Santos Inzaurralde]
En 1855 se exhuman los restos de Artigas para repatriarlos
Ansina eterniza su dolor en esta copla. Dijo el payador:
Escuché voces amigas que me explicaron el misterio
Se lo llevaron a Artigas los orientales del ministerio
Llevaron la piedra y los huesos, dejando la tierra colorada
Pero olvidaron los ministros esos, de algo que es mucho, y que es nada
Olvidaron la sombra de Artigas, y aquí quedó el negro Ansina como trigo perdido entre las espigas
Allí volveré, me echarán tierra encima
[Verso 1: Santiago Chalar]
Cuando él se fue en soledad
Tú te marchaste tras él
Negro el color de tu piel
Amigo fiel, del general
Y en la prisión vegetal
De la selva guaraní
El general tuvo en ti
El general tuvo en ti
Tu inconmovible lealtad
Y el sueño de libertad
De sus profundos desvelos
Halló a tu lado un consuelo
Moreno, de la humildad
Raza de nobles que dan
Su corazón por entero
Como tizón carbonero
Como tizón carbonero
Que alumbra en la oscuridad
[Pre-Estribillo: Santiago Chalar]
Ansina, diste tu nombre a un pueblo
Que eternizó tu lealtad, moreno
Ansina, moreno bueno, moreno
[Estribillo: Santiago Chalar]
Ansina, diste tu nombre a un pueblo
Que eternizó tu lealtad, moreno
Ansina, piel de carbón, moreno
Moreno que abrigaste al general
Moreno, moreno, sos moreno
Como el clarín cabundá, moreno
Y luna piel de carbón, moreno
Moreno, sombra fiel del general
Moreno, moreno, sos moreno
Como el clarín cabundá, moreno
Y luna piel de carbón, moreno
Moreno, sombra fiel del general
[Post-Estribillo: Santiago Chalar]
Moreno, sombra fiel del general
Moreno, sombra fiel del general
[Coda: Santiago Chalar]
Ansina
Como el clarín cabundá, moreno
Y luna piel de carbón, moreno
Ansina, moreno bueno, moreno
