The Men of Gortin Glen Lyrics by Saoirse

Music Evermore

0

Over in the Gortin Glen
There are lots of fine young men
And they're watching, and they're waiting
In the moonlight in the glen
For they passed a ? spell
And the girls will soon be coming
For to dance beneath the moonlight
With the men of Gortin Glen
And they danced, danced, danced
In a circle in a square
Danced, danced, danced
Raise your partner in the air
And then swing, swing, swing
Till you fall about exhausted
And then sing until the sunrise
Where the valley meets the glen
Deep within the clear valley
Girls have come from near, and far
And they're laughing, and they're singing
On the road to Gortin glen
For they've heard the drummers drumming
And the fiddle strings are humming
And soon they'll all be dancing
With the men of Gortin Glen
And they danced, danced, danced
In a circle in a square
Danced, danced, danced
Raise your partner in the air
And then swing, swing, swing
Till you fall about exhausted
And then sing until the sunrise
Where the valley meets the glen
(Gaelic)
As the sunlight fills the valley
And the moonlight leaves the glen
Homeward now go those women
Homeward now go those gorton men
Over in the Gortin Glen
There are lots of fine young men
And they're watching, and they're waiting
In the moonlight in the glen
And they danced, danced, danced
In a circle in a square
Danced, danced, danced
Raise your partner in the air
And then swing, swing, swing
Till you fall about exhausted
And then sing until the sunrise
Where the valley meets the glen
And then swing until the sunrise
Where the valley meets the glen
