perspective Lyrics by Sasha Allen (US)

2021

[Verse 1]
You lied to me
How can I get over it?
You lied to me
I'm so over this
You touch yourself to me
And then you dove from a thousand feet
You told me everything
You thought I wanted you to be
[Verse 2]
And you knew I was young
And you knew you were cool to me
But now I'm the age that you were when we met
And I just can't imagine doing what you did to me, so
[Hook]
Go on and twist someone else's perspective
Your love is a sad, cruel mix of deceit and deception
All wrapped up in your empty messages, so
Go on and twist someone else's reality
I got mine straightened out
I see impressive duality in the way you walk around
I'm not scared of your footsteps anymore
[Verse 3]
You took a lot of time from me
You had already dropped out of high school
And after we talked on the phone
I couldn't help but feel responsible
You used to talk about heaven
And [?] things you do
And you'd fall asleep knowing I would be desperately trying to call you
[Verse 4]
And I never dream
Of bringing you up
'Cause you were the one
Who taught me my first touch
And you leave, and you lie, and you told me that that was love
And that's why my perspective's all fucked up
[Hook]
So go on and prey on the young and defenseless
Your love is a sad, sick joke
Dishonest, relentlessly you said "If I let you go", then no one else would want me
In such a mess with the way I talk and I act in a dress
But you're one to talk, projecting your thoughts
And giving me ultimatums way too often
It's not just you being lost
'Cause you go back and repeat shit way too often
I saw the photo we got of us, I look way too fucking young
[Bridge]
You took a lot of time from me
You took a lot of time from me
You took a lot of time from me
You took a lot of time
You took a lot of time
You took a lot of time from me
You took a lot of time
You took a lot of time
You took a lot of time from me
You took a lot of time from me
[Outro]
But I'm not scared of your footsteps anymore
