Ahhh damn i miss granmas cooking
Rice and peas and dat turkey stuffing
Fingerlicking food so good rice pudding
Before she got ill now theres nomore cooking
Ahhh damn i miss granmas cooking
Rice and peas and dat turkey stuffing
Fingerlicking food so good rice pudding
Before she got ill now theres nomore cooking
One thing ma gran could do and that was cook a storm
6am shes thawing out her meat manat
Cracka dawn
Then shes hitting up the market picking out da freshest corn
Moaning at my uncle if he hasnt tried to mow the lawn
You couldn't understand the mental of ma family ties
Uncle brian and tony funnier than family guy
Wе shooting pigeons from the loft they usеd to hand me nines
This is our anarchist kittian view of family time
Sweet potatoe brussel sprouts and some mak and cheese she'd wait untill the yorkshire puddings brown to add some peas
I wana add a johnny cake my belly knows its greed
But stilla got leave some space for babycham and bun and cheese
All the pots upon the stove ther straightup blowing steam
Wen she opens up the oven its like tel aviv
So many foreign spices creeping up ma nostril
They make me feel so hungry that im acting hostile
Ahhh damn i miss granmas cooking
Rice and peas and dat turkey stuffing
Fingerlicking food so good rice pudding
Before she got ill now theres nomore cooking
Ahhh damn i miss granmas cooking
Rice and peas and dat turkey stuffing
Fingerlicking food so good rice pudding
Before she got ill now theres nomore cooking
Cauliflower cheese avacado wit no seeds
Through ma growing pains
Ma granma met my hunger needs
There was many times i saw my grannys frends get pissed
That was bulb and lackie sonny palmer never did
They used to pour that gin and rum like it was h20
So wen bulb passed away from alcohol it was an overdose
Granny never touched a drink again she saw the holy ghost
Lackie never made it out the 90's thats a lonely road
So now we sitting gathered every single generation
Surrounded by the hot food that she jus spent hours slaving
Your belly rumbling and the smell is making man impatient
I swear to god its not the same now the kitchen is vacant
All memories of food and family slowlyfading
They way you used to season chickens what im really rating
Coz mummy does her ting but dat ain't soul food
Wen we want that recipe your who we go to
Ahhh damn i miss granmas cooking
Rice and peas and dat turkey stuffing
Fingerlicking food so good rice pudding
Before she got ill now theres nomore cooking
Keep baking the potatoes granny how I like
Grits eggs and cheese granny how I like
Finger licking food you know just what i like
The taste of carribean is what I like
Making with the maple is what I like
Keep baking those potatoes granny how I like
Grits eggs and cheese granny how I like
Finger licking food you know just what I like
