SNL Digital Shorts

2006

[Tag (over the black screen): "An SNL Digital Short"]

[Title screen reads "Andy Walking" and the theme song plays]

[Andy Samberg is standing next to the NBC Studios building and is talking to a microphone]

ANDY: Hi America, Andy Samberg here on the streets of New York City. Everyone knows that people in television are way smarter than regular people out on the street. So I thought it'd be fun to go around and ask people simple questions, and see how dumb they look when they try to answer them. Come on!

[Andy is standing next to a middle-aged man]

ANDY: Who was the first president of the United States?

MAN #1: George Washington.

[Andy laughs and shakes his head, cut to Andy standing next to a black man]

ANDY: Who is the current vice president of thе United States?

Man #2: Dick Chenеy.

ANDY: [chuckles] This is gonna be worse than I thought.

[Cut to Andy standing next to another man]

ANDY: Who was the first person to walk on the moon?

Man #4: Uh, Neil Armstrong.

ANDY: Wrong.

[Cut to Andy standing next to a black man]

ANDY: What fast-food chain is Ronald McDonald associated with?

Man #2: McDonald's.

ANDY: Are you McSure? 'Cause I've never heard of that.

[Cut to Andy standing next to a woman]

ANDY: Okay, here's my impression of you. (mockingly) "Duh, duh, duh, duh, I'm a girl, I'm walking around on the street." That's you!

[Cut to Andy pointing at random pedestrians]

ANDY: Idiot. Fartbrain. No class.

[Cut to a man walking by]

ANDY: [mocking him] Oh hey, look at me, I'm a big stupid dummy, walking to work with my stupid bag. (The man looks at him) [to cameraman] Is he looking at us? Is he looking? Let's go.

[Cut to Andy standing next to a black man]

ANDY: How many states are there in the U.S.?

Man #2: 50.

ANDY: Are you McSure? [laughing] From before.

[Cut to Andy standing next to a middle-aged man]

ANDY: What does CIA stand for?

Man #1: Central Intelligence Agency.

(Andy gives a puzzled look to the camera and chuckles)

[Cut to Andy walking next to pedestrians]

ANDY: Look at all these people. None of them know anything.

[Cut to Andy standing next to another middle-aged man]

ANDY: How many states are there in the U.S.?

Man #4: 50.

ANDY: Correct. (he then shakes his head to the camera and mouths, "No, it was not")

[Cut to Andy standing next to a group of three women]

ANDY: Okay, complete this phrase: The Declaration of Indepen-

WOMEN: Dence.

ANDY: Yeah you are!

[Cut to several clips of Andy hysterically laughing next to random passerby]

[Title screen appears again and the theme song plays]
