REV Lyrics by Scabman The Scauldy

2017

[Verse]
Rev, was just an average fella
He'd stay clear from supply but half his class would sell it
He’d run, from bags he'd see, he'd try to ignore it
He seen deception before him, and dodged it, before shit
Went down, he was aiming to swerve past that road
Of corrupting his mind up, to the very last node
He knew, if he didn’t he would be different
But he'd put that on top of needles causing backs to stiffen
You may be wondering why Revs so afraid of the shite
The truth is the gear took his ma's life
The boys been scarred ever since
If he'd even think about taking shit he's always catch a glimpse
Of his mother, telling him not to do it
She'd plead with him to stop, have a dream, and make a choice to persue it
He'd have trouble, but he'd get over the strife
Pick him self up, work hard and try enjoy life
Next day in the school floating through the halls
Rev seen a classmate pinned against the wall
By a big fella, have a guess what stopped him, Rev clocked him he’s gone, straight up knocked him, out
Rev turned to see the other lad got up
He seen a group of lads and he tried his best and caught up
His mates noticed the damage and their heads shot up
They seen Rev and knew this isn’t where he was brought up
The lads walked over and had a little gander
Got along with the kid, had a little banter
They were chuffed that Rev seen the lad and hit 'em
In exchange they offered to have a little doss with ’em
Rev was buzzing, he wanted to bleeding shout it
He was a loner, so there's no bleeding doubt about it
Little did he know with this new life he's exploring comes his new mates who made all the decisions for him
The next day its winter so Rev got coated, texted the lads he's coming up, and out he floated
They all strolled down the streets, Rev loved the vibes
They’re on the roads where firearms tend to ruin lives
When the other boys were floating round the blocks its, obvious that in the shops they were stuffing shite in pockets
They all now how the city is
Whereas Rev over here so bleeding oblivious
Weeks went past, the lads seen every last hoop
So they accepted rev into their little group
They treated each other like royalty
Respect filled the lads, had each other's backs in loyalty
Obviously by this point Rev seen them toke
On there joints, well casual, have a little smoke
Rev was grand with it. Outstaight chill
Till later on when things went real downhill
Next day they're smoking, Revs on his way, they seen him
He came by and they offered some green to him
Rev thought fuck it, and started toking
Despite that fact his pledge to his mas broken
Its only haze like, it's no disaster
But in Revs case it started his climb up the ladder
Before the kid knew it, he was getting into fights, started taking and sniffing shite, getting high as a kite
They get into Robbin things like wallets phones and bikes, they got bored of that and they had something in their sights
The lads got older, and started fleecing cars
The result was well worse than being behind bars
Someone caught em at one point, they wanted a piece of him
He got them at gun point, he dotted the piece on 'em
Robbed from the wrong man, he put em all to slumber
That's what Rev gets for forgetting his mother
