Best Yet Lyrics by Shantaia

Exes and Friends

0

[Verse 1]
Coffee cup with your name on it
Different shade of lipstiick stain on it
Kinda feels like a cliché moment
Runnin' into you with your new woman
Wanna look away but I just can't leave
You never looked better with the better lookin' me
Might've meant it at the time
When you were mine
[Chorus]
You always said I was the best, yet
You never looked at me that way
I never saw that smile on your face light up
Like it did right now by the way she said your name
And I can't unsee it
Seein' what we could've been
That's what it really looks like when you get the girl
You just forget the rest, I guess
I wasn't your best yet
[Verse 2]
She's probably wrapped up in all your dreams
Just like you, she wants a family
But that just wasn't me
Felt like you were settlin'
[Chorus]
When you said I was the best, yet
You never looked at me that way
I never saw that smile on your face light up
Like it did right now by the way she said your name
And I can't unsee it
Seein' what we could've been
That's what it really looks like when you get the girl
You just forget the rest, I guess
I wasn't your best yet
[Bridge]
I'm not sayin' it's a lie, I know you meant it at the time
[Chorus]
When you said I was the best
Yet you never looked at me that way
I never saw that smile on your face light up
Like it did right now by the way she said your name
And I can't unsee it
Seein' what we could've been
That's what it really looks like when you get the girl
You just forget the rest, I guess
I wasn't your best yet
Guess I wasn't
I guess I wasn't your best yet, no
[Outro]
Coffee cup with your name on it
Different shade of lipstiick stain on it
Kinda feels like a cliché moment
Runnin' into you
