Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put it down, put 'em down
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Don't know what you're doing, put the mics down now
What's going on there, Mr. Rapper tell me what's the matter
Your mouth is full of gold and your pockets getting fatter
You're chillin' for the moment but really you ain't flowin'
I saw you at the show you couldn't get the party going
You said "wave your hands from side to side"
But you didn't have the sense and nah, you're never live
I bust the party open wide I caught you scoping
From side stage hopin' that I might fade
But it's never gonna happen silly rapper, sorry rhymer
I'm an MC digging deeper than a miner
And lacing flows with diamonds and silver linings
Set the party off with perfect timing, I got the shining
I see it all in thought long before the record's bought
First to the last you can't crash the fort
So I report these lessons from a teacher and a student
Put down the microphone, you don't know what you're doing!
[Chorus]
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put it down, put 'em down
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Don't know what you're doing, put the mics down now
All I got to say to all you sucker MC's
Please you talk trash
Basura, rubbish. You ain't the cooler
Dollar signs in your eyes, all you want is moolah
The SEA-Shun got more future than computers
So get your tutors, 'cause in the crowd you got booers listening
Watching, checking how you rocking and moving
You lack stamina out of breath amateur
Who be the challenger, somebody with the averager
A cartoon character, animated, highly overrated, shady shaded
Commercialized no more hunger in their eyes
Now you recognize the rhythms from the other side
Cause we refuse to let it die
We survive, never vanish, playing live we do damage
Feel the energy and see the crowd go nuts
Bananas And that's what matters, you punks better scatter
This pure adrenaline got you jumpin' out your skin
Chorus:
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put it down, put 'em down
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Don't know what you're doing, put the mics down now
We do a wonderful job at making heads bob
'cause we kick rhymes like it's gonna be the last time
We get a chance to make people want to blow their tops
Midnight drops in the city, the shit don't stop
We do a wonderful job at making heads bob
'cause we kick rhymes like it's gonna be the last time
We get a chance to make people want to blow their tops
Midnight drops in the city, the shit don't stop
Chorus:
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put it down, put 'em down
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Put down the mic, you don't know what you're doing
Don't know what you're doing, put the mics down now
